There is increasing recognition of the Airbag as SRS (Supplementary Restraint System) a occupant protection device to supplement Seat belt. It has been made mandatory in the US although this has not been legislated in Japan. Today, due to rising safety awareness, it has become a standard device in all automobiles (for frontal impacts).
Our design concept of safety systems stands on simultaneous pursuit of "Safety" and "Comfort" and "Convenience". Seat belt is of course, for the purpose of protecting or minimizing occupants from injury in case of accident. At the same time, we consider the importance of higher tastes of its design as a part of car-interiors and easier and more comfortable to fasten.
Tonneau cover (luggage cover) is to hide loads such as baggage at the rear space and it good for antitheft. Also it provides better looks from out side. It does not show a mess in the rear luggage rooms of the vehicles. Ashimori have various types of Tonneau Cover; Simple Tonneau Cover just to hide loaded luggage, and the type that is combined with Cargo Net. Also the type that covers the space between the tonneau cover and the rear seat. Many variations of Tonneau covers are available.
Since the conventional curtains provided in minivan or station wagons are of the horizontal-opening type, there are difficulties in stowing curtain when not in use, and they do not defilade the sun well. To address those, we have developed the world's first power roll curtain, which has a built-in vertically retractable system. When not in use, they are rolled up into the trim so that the view is not obstructed, and when the sun is too bright, they can cover only the top of the window so that adequate lighting can be maintained. In addition, they can be rolled out down to the bottom of the window to ensure complete privacy.
In our Power sunshade, the screen can be opened or closed with a switch, and the amount of light entering from the rear window can be regulated. The opening/closing motor powered operation is quiet, and our Power sunshade has been popular to be built in luxury cars as one of standard equipments.
